She vanished meeting a man who doesn't exist. The clock is ticking—and she's not his first victim.
In the fog-shrouded coastal town of Weyport, head baker Martha Porter lives a life of quiet control—perfect cakes, polite smiles, and a heart safely tucked behind emotional walls. But when a charming man begins messaging her through an online Christian forum, Martha dares to hope again… until she vanishes on the very night she agrees to meet him.
The missing-person case falls to Sheriff Angus Reid, whose investigation takes a dark turn when another woman’s body washes ashore—another victim who’d been speaking to a mysterious online suitor. What begins as a local missing person case quickly unravels into a disturbing pattern: a calculated predator is using faith-based communities and online forums to hunt vulnerable women across coastal Maine.
As Angus uncovers a chilling network of digital manipulation, stolen identities, and religious deceit, the race to find Martha becomes more urgent. Each clue leads deeper into a twisted mind hiding behind a mask of righteousness, and the line between justice and judgment begins to blur.
Can Angus unmask the predator before Martha becomes his next victim? Or will the fog that shrouds Weyport's coast hide another tragedy forever?

Chapter One Look Inside
Chapter One Look Inside
Prologue
The veil of fog rolled in off the ocean like a living thing, cloaking the coastal town in silence.
It was the kind of night that made everything feel uncertain—where familiar streets turned strange, and even the moon hid behind a curtain of cloud. Somewhere in the hush, a car door clicked shut. Footsteps whispered across damp gravel. A shadow moved where no one should be.
She should have known better. Should have listened to the uneasy feeling tightening in her chest. But it was late, and lonely hearts had a way of silencing caution when hope came knocking.
They always said truth brings freedom, that light exposes darkness. But in this town, darkness knew how to wear a mask—and truth didn’t always arrive in time.
Later, they would comb through evidence and motives. Try to piece together why someone so ordinary had vanished without a trace. But in that moment—beneath the veil of night and the echo of secrets—the only thing that remained was the sound of the ocean, relentless and unbothered by the evil unfolding on its shores.
Because evil didn’t always arrive with thunder.
Sometimes, it smiled first.

Angus and the gang from Weyport are back in book 9 and what a page turner.
What starts out as a slow burn to reel (suck) you in, by the time you get a few chapters in, you realise you don't want to (or can't) put the book down.
Each chapter keeps feeding you little tidbits, keeping you invested, mesmerised and wanting more (a need to know now).
I was not expecting some of the curveballs Angus has to deal with and there were a few spots that had me guessing what was going to happen next, which is what I love about this series. Everything is kept secret until the last possible moment and then boom 💥 (gotcha)
I can't wait to read Angus's next mystery case as each new story is better than it's predecessor.
Wow! I thought I'd read a few pages of Caleb's Cross last night, but ended up not putting it down until I devoured the whole book! I thought I had the plot figured out, but boy was I wrong!
Urcelia Teixeira did a nice job of dealing with a sticky subject with grace and hope. I'm already looking forward to Angus' next adventure!
WOW......
What a great book.
Angus and his team are back in the depths of mystery, trying to sort out another whodunit.
This one pulled me in from the start and held me captivated till the end trying to work it all out before Angus did.
Have to admit, every time I thought I had it, another twist jumped out at me.
Can you solve the mystery before Angus?
Her best book to date I think. Couldn’t put it down. Catches you from page one. 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
First;" Little Boy Lost" had me in tears, and needed to finish it as soon as possible. The ending was unbelievable. This story was so well put together I was there and feeling every emotion . You have to read it. This book also is what caught my attention to wanting to know more of this amazing detective. I have enjoyed every one of these books and still they make me want more. I really love how you bring God into everyday instances. The combination of mystery, everyday life, faith and answered prayer are incredible.
